Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
ThutoKeMatla respects your privacy and is committed to
protecting your personal information in accordance with
the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
This notice explains how your information may be used
during your registration and training.
1. Purpose of collecting your information
Information supplied through this registration form may be
processed for purposes relevant to your application, including:
- Student registration and enrolment administration.
- Identity, qualification and eligibility verification.
- Training, assessment and certification administration.
- Applicable SETA, QCTO, NLRD and accreditation reporting.
- Funding, workplace placement and programme administration, where applicable.
- Communication concerning your application and training.
- Maintaining student records and meeting applicable legal obligations.
2. Confidentiality and information sharing
Your personal information and supporting documents will be
handled with appropriate safeguards. Where necessary and
permitted or required by law, relevant information may be
shared with authorised training, funding, verification,
accreditation or regulatory bodies for legitimate purposes
connected to your registration and programme.
3. Protection of your information
ThutoKeMatla should take reasonable technical and
organisational measures to protect personal information
against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration
or misuse. Access to your information should be limited
to authorised persons who need it for legitimate purposes.
4. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or
correction of your personal information and raise concerns
about its processing with ThutoKeMatla administration.
Your rights under POPIA remain applicable.
This consent does not authorise unrelated use or unrestricted
disclosure of your personal information. Processing required
by law may be subject to a separate lawful basis under POPIA.
